On Being

On Being opens up the animating questions at the centre of human life: What does it mean to be human and how do we want to live? This podcast explores these questions in their richness and complexity in 21st-century lives.

Worship planning resource

This is a worship planning resource maintained by Christine Longhurst: http://re-worship.blogspot.com.au/.
This searchable and beautiful collection of resources includes 330 separate items for Advent, including options for various years.

The purpose of this blog is to help worship leaders and planners access some of the scripturally-based prayers and worship resources on the internet.

NET Bible

Is strongly recommended for  all ministers. Unlike many other translations and versions, this version was developed by modern scholars, and most importantly, there are translators' notes: referring back to the original language: explaining how the original text is translated or elements that are lost in translation (due to the limitation of our English Language). This is a very good version for sermon preparation: for people who have not learned any original languages or who are experts in it.

Following the lectionary

This is a resource for worship leaders who follow the weekly scripture readings suggested by the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL). The weekly resources are found by simply clicking on the appropriate “Label” (lower right side of the page) that corresponds to the Sunday you are working on (e.g. Proper 8 B, Epiphany 2 A, Lent 3 C, etc.)

Not following the lectionary

This is a resource for worship leaders who do not follow the weekly lectionary readings. It offers a few different options. For those working with a specific scripture text,  try looking up that scripture passage on this Reverse Lectionary to find out when it appears in the Revised Common Lectionary…and then follow the suggestions above.
